I’ll take a break from the Icelandic horses for a while (but we did meet more of them ;-)) and continue with our trip up the southeast coast of Iceland. The sights were stunning but the weather was dreadful – foggy, heavy rain much of the time, freezing cold and of course phenomenally windy. I did manage to get some captures, thanks to Tim, who has the patience of Job, but we did go back the same route the next day to Reykjavik and stopped again to actually see some of the sights in somewhat better, non-rainy weather. We drove all the way to Höfn (pronounced "hoep"), where there is a huge stretch of absolutely no civilization, so you have to be sure to fill your tank at Vik; otherwise, running out of gas and getting stranded here could be a real disaster.
There are lava fields everywhere along this coast, and most of them are covered with an abundance of moss.
