The same minaret as in the picture two back, but taken from outside the back gate to the complex. Buildings on this side of the grounds were totally different in style to the rest of them.

The first we wen to the mosque we were refused entry because we had missed visitors' hours, but a workman took pity on us and let us on the grounds, although one of the custodians ejected us about an hour later because prayers were due to start any minute. The next day we got there in time to see the inside of the mosque, but when we were walking around the inner courtyard afterwards, were told to leave by another Omani custodian. I really don't know why, but I got the rest of my pictures on the way out!
