Temperature rising

I keep detouring from my bazaar gallery, but some pictures just need to be posted when taken! This was the temperature in the Diplomatic Quarter while out for a walk with Sahraa this evening, 40 degrees C, which is 104 F. Actually, it was far hotter this afternoon when we drove outside of Riyadh to the base, about 110 F, according to our car thermometer. It was so hot out that the frozen meats we bought there started defrosting while we were putting them in the car.

They say summertime averages are around 50 C, or 122 F. I can’t even imagine that; this was hot enough for me, especially with an abaya on, which I had to let dry out when we got home (and I didn’t have much on under it, just some shorts ;-)).

A couple of other pictures posted today, a portrait from the honey bazaar and Sahraa making a friend:

I love this composition! 104 is probably not too bad if it is not too humid. ~BV~

Oh yes, that is hot! I like the hot weather, Houston stays at 98 or 99 for two months, but we have humidity so it feels hotter. It can be dangerous if you aren't careful. I like this photo, the PoV and framing and color. V

And we've been complaining about the mid 80s. Edie sends her sympathies. I like this composition - perfectly symmetrical except for the palm fronds. V

Yikes, that's hot. Hope the air conditioning is working well. I like the symmetry of this shot as well. V

I'd be melted on the ground in a puddle in that heat. When it gets above 75F I'm too hot.

There it goes.... Yes, it's a good thing that you can wear virtually nothing underneath those abayas, and nobody knows anyway. It would be unbearable otherwise for sure!

This seems to be quite hot....V
