Since several people have asked about the dining room table we’re having made from an old Saudi door, this is it. We bought this at a bazaar (so fits in with the shopping theme ;-)) from a company in Dhahran that made another small table for us from a Moroccan window, and did a beautiful job. The door is about 80 years old and is from Qassim, which is known for its architecture. It will be surrounded by a wood frame, recessed and covered with a large sheet of glass. Not as showy as some of the newer or refurbished doors like the one pictured below, but it’s the real thing!
