On the road to Makkah

No gallery of mine would be complete without a camel photo! This was a big truck on the road to Makkah (Mecca), which was about an hour’s drive from Jeddah. Non-Muslims aren’t allowed to enter the city, but I had seen a photograph of something near the city that I wanted to take for myself, so our driver agreed and got an OK for the trip. I’m glad we went – I got my picture, and it was an interesting, very different type of landscape to view.

They are so charming - even in a mob like this! Super catch. I'm glad you persisted. Can you imagine how many millions of dollars worth of camels were on that truck?

Beautiful inage of these camels behind that truck fence, love the similarity in colors of camels and fence !!V

No more camel trains... the camels get trucked! (they'd probably prefer their feet in the sand...)
