The mosque

I find Islamic architecture in general and the style of mosques here in particular quite appealing, and so very different from what I saw during my eight years in Turkey. I see online some other very striking mosques in this town, so will have to go in search of them on a trip back here.

Quite a large comples here, literally rising out of the surrounding rocky landscape.

A stark contrast to our western churches. The area seems so barren of vegetation its amazing that a living can be derived from this harsh landscape. ~V~
