Above the Passion Facade

This was taken while my husband was descending the 426-stair spiral staircase. I think it's quite interesting to see the writing on the bell towers and their exterior close up.

These pictures were taken by my husband, Tim Betts. He spent an awfully long time waiting to get up into the bell tower (hour and a half) while I took pictures of the basilica. I would like to have gone but didn't relish the 426 steps down on a very narrow sprial staircase. It turned out that you could take the elevator down, but my husband wasn't told this until boarding the elevator to the top.
