Car converted for rail

According to the sign, this was a "rail autocar type Warszawa, 1968" and was used for "personal transport." I had thought it was a much earlier vintage the first time I saw it, but confirmed this on our second visit.

Nikon D800 ,Nikkor AF-S 24-70mm f/2.8G ED
1/200s f/10.0 at 38.0mm iso100 full exif

This is a beautiful image, Helen. I would think that this was an inspection car for some officials. Some US railroads had these cars that had railroad wheels. Nice job. V.

I can imagine this going along on the tracks and a train comes up behind it like in the old movies :-)

Must be a great way to travel! Maybe they used this for quick interventions in case of defects.
