Springs

I thought these were some kind of royal insignia, but my husband told me they were springs ;-). There were three sets of springs on this side of the engine, which was the oldest one at the museum, dating to 1882.

This is so well seen, Helen, the springs rule the image and have such a characteristic shape. If I ever make a railway company, I would embed this shape in the logo for sure:) V
