War Memorial to the Buda Volunteers Regiment

The Buda Volunteers Regiment was formed during World War II, at the time of the 100-day-long siege of Budapest. Its members were volunteers taking the Soviet side against the fascists. ... About 600 members of the regiment died a hero's death. On different sides of the monument are assaulting Hungarian and Soviet soldiers, who are joined together by a five-pointed star, representing Communist ideology, which has been blasted through the concrete. (from "In the Shadow of Stalin's Boots: Visitors' Guide to Memento Park")

A rather brutalist, but fascinating, monument.
Any news on your D800?

An interesting sculpture and interesting history, with former colleagues eventually becoming enemies.
