Dominican Church, main dome

Although a church has always stood on this site since the 14th century, the current building dates to the years after the destructive war of 1655-1661, during the Russian occupation. As "DK Eyewitness Travel: Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania" states, "The unassuming doorway, which can be easily missed, belies the sumptuous interior."

I came to really understand the meaning of "light streaming in" at this church. The light was streaming in everywhere.

Richly decorated and a lovely color palate. A fine shot and the light pouring in is indeed wonderful to see. V
