Dome Cathedral, retired rooster

Apparently this used to be the rooster on the top of the spire (a common practice in this part of the world, but I can't remember the significance). It has been replaced by a new rooster, just barely visible in the image of the spire at the beginning of this cathedral series.

Fab details of the rooster and walls! Roosters are a commonly used symbol in Portugal too. V

I love the lighting and blending of colors. Excellent composition with great texture. Certain parts of the world (including Key West, Florida) seem to place increased importance on roosters. v
