Gaudí's Little-known Church of Colònia Güell

The Church of Colònia Güell is the unfinished work (only the crypt was completed) of Antoni Gaudí, built for the workers in the industrial park of Colònia Güell, the brainchild of Eusebi Güell, for whom Gaudí had designed Palau Güell just off La Rambla in Barcelona. This fascinating community and church are only a 20-minute train ride from Barcelona, yet they are rarely visited by tourists except as a stop on the way to Montserrat. We met up again with Jose Antonio https://pbase.com/joseantonio whose idea it was to journey out to Colònia Güell – and a great idea it was. It was simply a fascinating place. This sub-gallery will just focus on the church. It was small, but is considered to be the precursor and model for La Sagrada Familia https://pbase.com/helenpb/barcelona_sagrada -- you can see many similar elements even in the small crypt.
