This piece of statuary has become a local landmark.
Constructed along the entry road to Kailua-Kona it's viewed by thousands of locals and visitors daily.
Now in place going on 4 years it was put up by a local artist (obviously a golfer!) in protest over the County government's failure to construct a public golf course on the property in the background.
Other than replacement of corroded, weather-worn golf clubs it's never been vandalized in all the time it's been in place.
