surface b

Started installing the splines (ribs) for the largest of the three (3) work surfaces tonite.
These are 1-inch wide x 3/4-inch thick pieces of poplar. When complete they will create a
torsion box out of the two sheets of plywood and an absolutely flat surface. Heavy too!

After ripping the spline stock this was as far as I could get before it got to late to make noise.

Right here Paolo, I'm keeping an eye on him! :-) 8 more ribs and gluing the top, or bottom on, though I'm thinking top as that other sheet looks very good to me, some edging and presto, surface B is ready for the finish! (not forgetting days of sanding and finishing!)

This is going to be one fantastic office space when you gather all these components together -- every time I take a look at your woodworking images, I am dumbfounded by their engineering (duh) and their palpable beauty. You really make the wood sing!
