It's called a reduced pressure principle backflow preventer.
Not exactly hidden, but not as unattractive as most either.

Submitted for the April Scavenger Hunt Challenge.

Interesting looking devices. Very alien-like.

Now I know what these are called, but what do they do exactly? Cool shot with all the green tones.

Nice angle really gives a sense of how big it is.

BIG backflow preventer! My company has hundreds of these (only a much smaller version) for our irrigation systems. We irrigate about 900+ acres. Nice shot with great POV.

This is a fab shot Dave! Would make a great advertisement for a reduced pressure principle backflow preventer manufacturer! :0))

There are so many shades of green, its difficult to match up, but I guess the fronds will grow to provide even better hiding soon.
lisamidi24-Apr-2010 07:10
It will disappear soon, I suppose, but I like the greens a lot!
Chris24-Apr-2010 05:54
It'll disappear amongst the fronds given time. Great shot.

Big scale. Harder to camouflage than the little residential units ;-)

Great job in hiding! :)
Ed Preston24-Apr-2010 01:36
and it looks like they don't want you adjusting anything either! Love the greens!
