Vashon, WA

"Cool Gary" Lynn was a well-loved local schizophrenic who would hitchhike around Vashon Island, often carrying a chainsaw. In 1998 he jumped in front of a car and was killed. Local artist (and perennial presidential candidate) Gene Amondson, a friend of Gary, carved this statue as a tribute. It stands today just off the road where Gary was killed.
