Dayton, WA
Possibly the largest piece of folk art in the U.S.: a giant-size Jolly Green Giant made of plants and patio blocks on a hillside in the mid-70s. America's answer to European megalithic cliff carvings.
Dayton was once the center of canned asparagus for the Green Giant label. In 2005 the cannery moved to Peru. The Giant was "seeded in" in the mid-1970s; he would appear in the Spring and disappear in the drier months. He is now outlined with patio blocks so he can always be seen from US Highway 12.
