Nessie: the Yaquina Bay Monster

Newport, OR

Nessie is the "World Famous Yaquina Bay Sea Monster." She is said to have been found by a night watchman in 1992. A sign tells what the creature really is: a Kronosaurus Queenslandicus or Crown Lizard. She is now on display in Aquarium Village, a little area of shops in Newport, just south of the bridge. Nessie is about 20 feet long, and she looks pretty fierce.
