The "world's tallest bear" is a 34-foot-tall topiary scaffold slowly being covered with ivy. It was built in 1945 and destroyed by a storm in 1989. In 2012 the scaffolding was restored and the ivy continues to fill in. The Ivy Bear is the name of both the pizza restaurant and the bruin next to it.
