Catch of the Day

It can take a lobster 7 years to reach just 1 lb.

Lobsters can be left or right-handed.

In order to grow, a lobster must shed or molt by splitting its shell down the back and squeezing out.

A female lobster lays between several thousand and 100,000 eggs at a time.

Only 1/10th of 1% of a lobster's eggs develop and live past 6 weeks.

Did you know shell rot disease is plaguing the Atlantic Lobster and there is no cure?  Marine Biologists are working to better understand just what is happening.  Please be conscious of our environment and the impact we have on our planet. Please take care not to pollute our waterways.
