This is a collaboration by Alexander Angnaluak, Melissa Attagutslak, Kaajuk Kablalik and
glass artist Jennifer Anne Kelly. It is a full size Qajaq (kayak) and was unveiled this morning in the
lobby of the Ottawa General Hospital where it will stay. Each glass panel has metal rings imbedded
that are then tied with sinew to the qajaq's frame. The panels were made by Alexander, Melissa
and Kaajuk after learning from Jennifer how to work in kilned glass. Jennifer made the paddle.


This is one of the panels on the top. Three sides of the lobby area are windows so the glass qajaq
couldn't be in a better place. It's beautiful.
