Aug 1st this caterpillar was found in a green bin bag after throwing
out some Queen Anne's Lace flowers. By Aug 7 had tripled in size
eating parsley.


Aug 8-9 attached to stick, shrunk in size and made support
filaments.


Aug 10 in 20 minutes went from looking like a caterpillar
to a chrysalis ! Unfortunately, I missed the exact moment
of change.


Home for the next 12-13 days (usually with a mesh cage
covering) when hopefully a Black Swallowtail
will emerge, be photographed & released.
I have successfully done this once before in 2007.
