Micheal Hedges was one of the most talented composers I have ever heard. His use of alternate tunings and the fact that he used so many and made them all sound so great is a constant inspiration to me as a acoustic guitarist. Although I never had the chance to see him perform his music and legend lives on to this day and is a inspiration not only to me but, anyone who understands how difficult it is to get the sounds he got out of his guitar. I have always explored alternate tunings such as A mauna loa and open G and am always floored by talent like his. Wayne Kaczmarek.

I've had the pleasure of seeing Leo Kottke perform twice in Wichita, but never saw Micheal Hedges. Hedges grew up in Enid OK where my wife is from. He was a high school classmate of my wife's sister, class of 1970.
