This is the second and final set of images on the "Nesting Loons". Total five images.
First (top) Image: Male approaches the nest vacated by its mate.
Second Image: Male ascends the nest. This appears to be a daunting task as the nest is quite high. Loons have some difficulty walking on level ground, let alone up a steep slope, due to their legs being far back on their heavy bodies.
Third Image: Male reaches the top of the nest and practically tumbles into it. He re-adjusts his position a few times before he seems to remember that he forgot something.
Fourth Image: He gets back up and begins the task of turning over the eggs.
Fifth Image: Once both eggs are turned, he settles in for his two-to-three hour stint of tending the nest and the eggs.
