Three shots. (Shot 1 of 3) On a very cold (-20 C) and windy day, the Barred Owl is all fluffed up. It was asleep and never did fully open its eyes. I guess it knew we couldn't cross the wide ditch and the high fence to get up close.

Even with the eyes partially open, I couldn't get a good shot of the eyes due to poor light and the puffed-out head feathers.
