Ottawa West

This wayward Catbird, a rare winter sighting for Ottawa, has been around all winter. Until a few days ago it was hanging around and eating the berries from this Buckthorn bush/tree. However, I haven't seen it these past three very cold days. Hopefully it has found shelter and another place to eat.

That's a hardy catbird. Looks like there's plenty of food for it, so it might be ok through the winter.

Wow, that's certainly a rare sight in winter. Too bad it's eating the Buckthorn, though. Those "invasive" and non-native berries are not very nutritious for birds. Hope he or she make it!

Excellent photo - you've even got that flash of colour on it.

What a great capture of the catbird, and a beautiful setting as well. I do hope he found another good spot.
