For my last posting of the Nepean Lighthouse including the Whales (see http://www.pbase.com/image/140197423 ), I was just having a bit of fun. The whales were cloned in. We have been having a lot of rare and first ever bird sightings this Fall along The Ottawa River, including several sea birds like a Razorbill, a Black-legged Kittiwake and a Guillemot. There have also been a lot of other rare bird sightings for our area; hence, I thought I'd stir the pot a bit and throw some Newfoundland whales into the mix.
Most locals of course caught on immediately, however perhaps I fooled a few who are not familiar with our far inland river. I thought however that my "LOL" and the date "April 1st, 2011 below the images should have given it away.
The current image is of the Snowy, found close to home at the Nepean Sailing Club. It has been around for well over a week now.
