I guess one of the greatest challenges in photography is to find art in the commonplace, and you have done it in this portfolio, and especially this image. This imagee really tells a story that I can relate to, and that's what gives it meaning to me. Every now and then I resolve to make images that attract attention froms a thumbnail, and I know better, and this is a great example and reminder that there are other worlds in photography (besides online), and those other worlds don't need to shout for attention as thumbnails. Subtlety is not wasted.

And the theme of impermanence is so well acknowledge in Buddhist belief, but so extensively denied in contemporary society. Yet, photography is one of the most powerful ways to show us the transitory nature of things -- and treasures of the moment. One of the reasons I am so drawn to the flea market is that it is visually about stuff -- objects that ares no longer wanted, yet too good to throw away. Ironically, you can nearly always find a statue of Buddha on one of the tables.

I like the title of this portfolio because I was wondering what to do with some images that are sort of borderline -- sort of like flea market stuff -- maybe not worth keeping, yet have far too much value to throw away. I'm sure glad that you discarded these scenes where we can all enjoy them! THANKS! (Keep discarding :-)

Sue is correct. It was ice cream that we just finished off with yummy Grater's fudge sauce.--Rene

Who would have thought that the lensbaby could give such a great effect in a scene like this.
I like the way it blurred the background so softly :)
