This is not a toad at all Rene, its a bearded dragon (Pogona vitticeps) a lizard that is native to Australia. A horny toad (Phrynosoma) which is also a lizard looks quite different.

Great lighting and detail. Sorry but this is a lizard, not a toad. Possobly a horned lizard. Voted.

He looks best with a bit more lighting, yes.
Love how he has such a big nose; mine doesn't have such a pronounced nose on him.

Mine look like this. Their colours are more darkened here as they were a bit miffed at me & they were also in the sunlight, gathering rays.

great pose and light!
Perhaps an extra layer with hard light and then turn the opacity way back? Perhaps some sharpening to really let those sharp things at his side stick out??
