My M42 Family

This is my entire collection of M42 lenses. The Takumars are my favourites. Ever since I got my M42-EOS adapter, and lay my hands on the Super-Multi-Coated Takumar 35mm F3.5 lens, I was stunned by the quality of construction of the lens, and how wonderful it feels in my hands. Now I can't stop collecting these beauties. These lenses are optically superior to the cheap zooms of today, and they are dirt cheap by today's standards.

Many of the lenses in this picture have been sold, but also many have been added. One day I will take a picture of my current M42 lenses. I am looking to complete my collection of East German lenses. They are fantastic optically, but not as well made as the old Japanese lenses, especially the Takumars.

Good to see another M42 fan. I've got some equipment pages, too - we have a good bit of overlap on the Pentax lenses.

Hello:My hobby is the photography and í´ve discovery the value of old metalic lenses.
I have bayed same M42 lenses (Pentacon 50mm 1.8 , Pentacon 135 2.8) and i´m looking for a Carl Zeiss 200mm 2.8 to use on my Canon EOS D60.
I think that these lenses give more quality.
Bye.
Best Regard from Spain.
