This first-winter Harris's Sparrow, first found by Sheila Dickie on November 16, has been a fairly reliable performer along Rydin Road near Point Isabel Regional Shoreline in Richmond. This species breeds in the Canadian arctic and normally winters in the Great Plains states, and is a very rare fall and winter visitor to California.
