The Whirlpool Galaxy in the constellation Canes Venatici. This little photo was taken from a single exposure of 1 minute and then over processed in Photoshop. M51 is thought to be about 24 million light years from earth and to this date is the most distant object I've ever photographed.

One photo is all I could get before clouds covered that area of the sky. This is my first attempt of photographing this beautiful galaxy and better, longer exposure attempts will be forthcoming.
