Late in the morning I turned down the central road of the refuge. Along that road at that time I saw 4 or 5 roadrunners. They tended to be pretty unconcerned about humans and even more unconcerned about passing cars. But they were not so cooperative as to get on the other side of the road where I would have had the light completely behind me.
