Bear Mountain

I took my second flight in local flyboy Ted Grussing's motorized glider today...braving some of the monsoon storms that had begun to pop up around the Sedona area. While it was just another day's play to Ted, it was a bit more harrowing to this lover of solid ground! This scene shows an unusual view of Bear Mountain northwest of town. The ruggedness of this formation is much more apparent when viewed from above as opposed to the typical ground level view.

That is an incredible vantage point for this image! Wonderful contrasts of rugged red rock and stormy skies. It must have be an added treat to soar in a sail plane while take these images! ~GMV~
