Day 329 - Disturbed
Wow, the first time in CS4 to actually muck with an image in a very long time. Somehow I remembered how to do layer masks (to a certain point). I did all the initial WB adjustments in LR, selected my 3 images and did an "Edit In | Open as Layers in Photoshop". After all my image manip was done in CS4, I did the final processing (crop, preset, and vignette) back in LR.

Day 328 - Processed
Another FGR day. This has been heavily post-processed, I hope it qualifies for today's group. It was another busy day and I am quite wiped. This turned out a little bit better than I had 'settled' on. I was expecting something a lot more lack-luster

Day 327 - Yo-Yo Boy
My son got this "Really Cool YoMega" today at WOW. WOW is an after school children's program that does some kind of interesting activities. My son got to meet someone who was a "Professional Yo-Yo Guy for YoMega" (these are his words). He was doing pretty good this evening too. This, by the way, was taken with AI Servo. I am pretty happy with the AI Servo on the 40D, I get more keepers than not whenever I use it. I don't use it that often, I'm not a big action photographer, but when I do use it, it works.

Day 326 - Jedi Shiba
Our dog Fox shortly after completing his Jedi Training. He can really throw down with Yoda. I saw him in our living room this afternoon, he was actually soaking up the sun, two seconds before and 3 seconds after this shot, he was completely bathed in sunlight and this shot would be pretty much impossible. He was able to stay in this position long enough for me to get my camera, take a few shots, then run back and grab my flash, and take a few more shots. This was his idea to pose with the Light Saber, anyone who has or knows about Shibas will understand that you cannot get them to do anything, they only do what they want to do. They are basically two year olds or teenagers.

Day 325 - Living Dangerously
Across the street from my "Doors With Character" shot is this power station (the river and falls are behind this building). There are three or four very large turbines in this building that you can see through the glass windows (you can't see them in this shot though). It was the "Danger" sign that caught my eye, not the doors. The doors are pretty standard. I really like the signs and the brick, I added a bit of gritty processing to get this affect and am pretty happy with it. I might mess around with this shot in LR 3, the use of grain could add a bit to this shot.

Day 324 - Wife
I had planned on calling this "Memory" or "Things that help jog my memory". Thank god for these Post-It Notes. I am able to label the important things in my life so that I don't forget them. I have to state though, it is extremely important to get the correct Post It Notes on the correct items. Case in point, you don't want to accidently place the Post It Note entitled "Girlfriend" on your wife, or vice-versa. Not unless you enjoy having your camera ripped out of your hands and smashed on the ground. I'm not saying that I have made that mistake, yet. I am only pointing this out.

Day 323 - Tall Order
This is about half of this year's order for my son and two other boys in our den. My son sold over $700 worth of popcorn alone. Our pack stepped it up this year and made a big todo about selling popcorn, how it helps pay for the pack awards, the pinewood derby, and other things. The result was almost double the sales this year. Now comes the distribution end to this. Last weekend a group of volunteers picked up 4 pallets of popcorn for our pack. They then broke it up into the indivifual den's orders. It is up to each den to break it down into the boy's orders, then up to those boys to deliver it and collect the money. My son has been a great help at all steps. He did most of his own selling (it helped that he was in his uniform with a cast and sling ;-) He helped me unload the Tahoe this evening and stack it in the house. He will be helping with the delivery this weekend too.

Day 321 - Frost
Right to the point today. As I was getting the bike ready to go home this evening, I realized that frost had formed on the seat. Technically when shit kept sliding off, I was a bit perplexed, then realized what the problem was. Please note that up here in the Great White North, we do not identify Frost due to the Nomenclature etched into frosty surfaces. The word frost was something I added (freezing my finger in the process) for effect.

Day 320 - Paranoia
"...Dr. Dr. help me please, I know you'll understand
There's a time device inside of me, I'm a self-destruction man
There's a red, under my bed
And there's a little green man in my head
And he said, you're not going crazy, you're just a bit sad
Cause there's a man in yah, gnawing yah, tearing yah into two.
Silly boy yah self-destroyer
Paranoia, the destroyer…"
Excerpt from Paranoia, by the Kinks.
(Like I had a choice with today's FGR ;-)

Day 319 - TTV of Us
Based on the SP I took a few days ago Through The Viewfinder (TTV), I decided that our '52 of Us' shot this week would also be a TTV shot. We were a little pressed for time (like always) my wife had to head out to pick up my oldest so that they could get back in time to grab something to eat then head off to Fencing Lessons. So anyway, the first set was a little off. I completely forgot about the reversed nature of the TLR and I had myself pretty much out of frame. Once I realized it (and coaxed my wife back) I realized the flash was aimed too low, but there was nothing I could do at this point (she was frantic to get out the door). I left our reflection off the sighting mag lens on the top (it is in the retracted position). I thought it rather cool that both our faces (eyes) were in it.
Shot through the Viewfinder of my Rolleiflex 2.8.

Day 318 - Guarding
Our cat is resting on my wife as she reads her book. My wife is reading the book, not the cat. She wouldn't read a cat, that is just plain silly. So anyway, our cat is also guarding my wife. Not sure from what, most likely from me.
