Andy Green's nomination story to carry the Torch.
Great Baddow High School - Andy joined GBHS in 1973 and has been Deputy Head since 1997. He met his wife Sue at school and their 4 sons all attended GBHS. If Andy was a stick of rock he would have 'Baddow' through and through. In his 39 years here, he has had a massive impact on the lives of thousands of pupils. Many parents are ex-pupils and thoroughly enjoy meeting him again in this capacity. He has always demonstrated his commitment to the well being of young people, balancing firm discipline and high expectations with humour and empathy. For several years he has worked with young offenders in his spare time. A passionate and talented sportsman (and president of Chelmsford Rugby Club), Andy has inspired generations of young people to participate in sports and has devoted hundreds of hours to travelling the country to support students at local, district and national events.
