The great 1945 fire that threatened the town of Bolinas, burned across the North side of MT.Tamalpais and stopped just before it dropped down into Mill Valley. The 3 photos show only the early stages of the fire because the Mt Tam lookout was later cover by smoke and the fire no long visible.
I believe the lookout was manned by Harry Steinburg who later became Chief Dispatcher at Woodacre, MCFD. Harry and his wife manned the Mt. Tam lookout throughout World War11 24X7 as fire lookouts and plane spotters looking for enemy aircraft.
