Benicia Army Cemetery is the oldest U.S. military cemetery in the Pacific states. Founded in 1849,
it was used by the Benicia Barracks and Benicia Arsnal for over a century. Buried here are 123 U.S. military personnel, 61 civilians, 18 persons of unknown affiliation, 9 World War 11 prisoners-of-war, and 3 pets.
