Rare spring migrant, April to late May, primarily in Desert region. Rare fall migrant and winter visitor, primarily in Lowlands and Coastal regions.
Habitat: Flooded freshwater marshes, cattle pens.
Best locations: Borrego Springs Settling Ponds, Lindo Lake.
