Osprey Pandion haliaetus
Uncommon winter visitor and resident, primarily in the Coastal region, but also in Lowlands and Mountains.
Habitat: Bays, estuaries, large lakes and reservoirs.
Best locations: San Elijo Lagoon, Bay front Park (J Street) in Chula Vista, Lake Murray.
Note: Increased as a nesting bird since 1997.
