Room with a View

New Orleans

My hotel room is on the 27th floor with sweeping views of the curves of the Mississippi rivers. There are condos far below that are just a few stories high. The window tinting is not obvious to the eye but turns photos an other-worldly blue. I liked the effect on this one.

That's awesome, nice built in filter the window has!

Striking effect from the window tinting.

Nice shot, unreal. Some of my co-workers are New Orleans for a conference this week too.

Yes, dollhouse first came to mind. The window is tinted, but doesn't show blue light in the room? How cool! Good luck at your convention!

Gives it a surreal feel.

This is very pretty Gayle! I love the color. New Orleans is one of my favorite towns...very unique architecture.

I live about 30 miles away from New Orleans but I'm staying in the city while a convention I'm in charge of is in town.

I too thought it was a dollhouse. Fascinating shot..love the blue.

Do you think that is how Blue Dog came about--through a tinted window?

Wow, I had to really study this image to get a handle on it... I love it!
Guest 21-Jun-2004 15:29
This turned out very cool! It looks almost fake. I love the color!

Far out. Very unusual color and angle and subject.

...I'm confused; I thought you live in New Orleans....
looked like a dollhouse to me, too...

I like the effect too. It's like having a new filter for your camera. :) Neat photo.

this is wonderful... from this perspective I thought I was looking at a dollhouse at first. Very nice.
