What is it?

Well I can't remember its name since the indivdual I asked gave me the technical reference.
(Don't wanna come across as stupid ya know) :-)
I was told it is a flower though.

Beautiful! Very elegant colours and composition. I think it is a Eryngium giganteum "Mrs Willmott's ghost". I plan to add some of these to my garden, especially after this picture. Vote.
