Thanks for the kind words Anne. I did notice the detail on the leg but am not sure what it is. I can take a look at the much larger original image to see if I make out what it is.

Your photos are exquisite, and very touching. (I am a lifelong bird lover.) Now, am I seeing things, or does this bird have a fine wire wrapped around its right leg?
