From Kona to Honaunau, Jan 2007. Impressions of the fascinating and rich in sights south shoreline of Kailua-Kona. Hawaiian Heiau's, churches, towns and there is also the Kealakekua Bay in which a monument of Capt. Cook commemorates the place in which he lost his life. A must-see places to all history buffs and people fascinated by Hawaii and Polynesia. Downside: traffic. At times we stood for any time between 45min and 1.5 hours(!) in a stop and go traffic. This can only be called a total collapse. Of course poor driving is a factor, but main reason is that the Ali'i route is not prepared to take this amount of daily commute. |
