<< Fly back along South Molokai to Honolulu | << Fly to Lanai | Land on Molokai Airport >> September 18, 2003: Flight along Molokai Pali Coast up to the former Leper Colony of Kalaupapa Over 5 years have passed since I flew along Molokai, see 1999 Molokai Flight in Vog conditions. Back than I was making my first experiences in flying these Islands and the weather was not on my side. Haze and Vog ("volcanic fog") have hidden from me probably the most spectacular landscape, the 3000 feet high steep cliffs of Molokai Pali. It was different this time! We flew in magnificent weather with good visibility. Spot the one remaining aircraft wreck in the approach to Kalaupapa Airport! (image 46C-25.) It is a reminder that not everyone returns home from aerial adventures... |
