This bird was one of two birds found during the 1998-1999 Sequim-Dungeness CBC,which represented the 1st inland record of this species for Washington away from past traditional locations at American Camp on San Juan Island. This was a most unexpected sighting and the subspecies and route of this bird remained undetermined.
