A flower-lined stretch of the trail. I didn't expect to see flowering plants at this time of the year.

Hakan takes a picture of, what? A cactus growing out of a rock wall? While this is in Dry Creek, it is not on the trail. The trail is about 50 feet to our left.

Dry Creek is just that - DRY - at least at this time of the year.

CAUTION! Mad rattle snake. My path would have been directly across this snake's head, if it wasn't for the racket it made when I wandered within about 10 feet of it. This is also where the Bear Sign trail heads off to the west from the Dry Creek trail. At this point Hakan and I didn't know that the others had taken the Bear Sign trail. From here we continued up Dry Creek. I also told Hakan that the next time the trail crosses the creek, he leads.

The trail crosses the creek again. Views of Sedona red rocks appeared several times along the trail. This is where Hakan ans I turned around and headed back down Dry Creek to try to find the others.
