the traffic sign reads "no traffic signs"..it is as confusing as Strait of Hormuz news...open-closed-open-closed, and so gas prices up-down up-down, and optimism is tossed to the wind

Against all that uncertainty, the Palouse remains beautifully calm. Perhaps that is what makes the photograph work so well: a serene landscape, one absurd little sign, and a perfect visual metaphor for a world that cannot quite make up its mind.
