in a hurry

Astoria, Oregon

after the huge fire of 1922 burned the town to the ground, residents were in a hurry to rebuild...the Liberty Theatre opened in 1925, featuring vaudeville acts, local talent shows, and movies with the likes of Harold Lloyd and Al jolson...in the 1940s Jack Dempsey himself stood on the stage pitching war bonds...the theatre was renovated in 2000, and is still an active venue today

It's so nice to see old buildings still in business and even better when they're restored to their former glory...great shot David, I like all the angles in this composition

An interesting story here. Was he running from or to something? The beautiful building is a juxtaposition to the runner. V

What a great image of this grand theatre!
A wonderful narrative that makers it all the more fascinating!
The struggling man really takes it to another level!

Wonderful old time theater. Glad it has survived. I don't remember seeing that when I was there. V

I love the PoV and distortion that exaggerated the marquee. V

A superb facade ... and strange contrast with the man in a hurry ! "Un homme pressé" is a French movie ... Maybe he is preparing the remake for North-American audience... :)

Great shot of this beautiful landmark, and impressive that it's still in use. I like the guy rushing past it, too.

Great, all inclusive shot of it despite the photo bomber. Thanks for including all of the history of it. ~BV~

Is he scurrying out of your way? Neat scale of this terrific structure!
